Atena
offering: Engine, Aggregates and Carriage / Mechanical Engineering
Atena supports the automotive industry in every phase of engine and power
train development – from configuration and detailing of individual parts
and components to the overall design, including packaging and installation
tests. Our portfolio includes development and design of individual components
– from oil pans to cylinder heads and covers; from intake pipes through
exhaust gas heat exchangers and exhaust manifolds to the entire exhaust
system. Moreover, Atena designs and develops entire assemblies such as
intake and exhaust air ducting systems.
Owing to experience with state-of-the-art CAD tools such as CATIA V5,
ProEngineer or Unigraphics as well as popular database systems such as
EDM, VPM and their derivatives, Atena is capable of adjusting to a variety
of IT environments smoothly and without time-consuming data conversion
processes. Our core competencies include the adaption of engines to new
installation space conditions, new emission directives as well as new
legal requirements in the field of pedestrian safety.
In the field of engineering machinery, we develop and design machines
or subsystems, e.g. for injection molding machines or automatic placement
machines, as well as test rigs to customer specifications. Atena’s portfolio
in the automotive sector is rounded off by the design of manufacturing
equipment – from assembly fixtures to entire working platforms.
For the purpose of effective simultaneous engineering, Atena provides
not only design expertise but also relevant experience and equipment to
conduct all kinds of complex calculations. Apart from FEM calculations
to determine the mechanical properties and the durability of parts, Atena
offers CFD calculations for flow path optimization. The results will immediately
feed into the design process to ensure an optimum final product as regards
quality, cost and weight.
Both design and simulation can be done in-house at Atena’s premises and
on Atena’s equipment. In order to guarantee maximum know-how transfer,
it is also possible for the resident engineers of our development teams
to work on site at the customer premises.
